Mim makes French Spaghetti. No, there is not a recipe to follow. It's just for family, sick people, and possibly the occasional guest or grieving family. But not for the general public. Sorry. Today she made it for the snaggle tooth. Something soft for Josiah to eat that wouldn't pull on that tooth. While I was picking up our lovely dinner, Mim made commentary..."You must have a guardian angel around you at all times". I think she was giving me a nod and a pity party all at the same time. Maybe just shootin the LORD some glory. I'm not sure. Spaghetti in van....we headed back to the "farm". We had some more school to do, laundry, and a whole bunch of tomatoes to "put up".
As I peeled tomatoes, fielded questions in Spelling, and quelled the angry one's discontent with writing a research paper...I felt a sense of peace. I remembered a little angel my Jenna gave me and brought it to the kitchen.I decided she needed to be a part of this train wreck. ( I made her an apron so she wouldn't get messy canning tomatoes. Can you say DORK? HA! ) If you look closely, she is the perfect kitchen angel. She doesn't have any lips to criticize my cooking And she lacks ears...which is good 'cause I don't really need any repeating some of the crazy things said around here. But her eyes! Wide open....to see the battle. Is that what angels are for...the battle? It reminded me that our God sees! Beer Lahai Roi...the The Living One who sees! I'm unsure what angels do for me. I do know the spiritual warfare that goes on around here. And I know my God sees. I know that Jesus lives to intercede for me, continually providing proof in the battle against the accuser of the brethren. And I am so grateful for a mother that reminded me of that today...with spaghetti and angels. Love my Mim and my Jesus.
I love your Mim too! Tell her I said "Hello". What a blessing to have someone to feed the hungry heart. Mim for the hungry and the Angel for the heart :) Love your writings, keep on sharing!
